Ryder's Story

My name is Ryder Sarchett, and I'm reaching out to share my story as a ski racer. Growing up in the world class resort of Sun Valley, Idaho, skiing became more than just a sport to me; it became a way of life. Through the incredible program at SVSEF, I found my passion for ski racing and decided to pursue it wholeheartedly.  Along the way, I faced challenges that tested my resilience. At 16, I suffered an ACL injury, but I refused to let it define me. While the rehab consisted of a lot of work, through pain both physical and mental. My efforts paid off, and I finished the next season ranked 2nd in slalom for my age in the world, as well as making the US Ski Team; whom I proudly represented at World juniors, Norams as well as a few Europa Cups. These experiences brought on good and bad results, which taught me to take full ownership of my results, embrace humility and to make sacrifices to achieve success.

Though last season I did not make criteria for the US Ski team, I'm excited for the opportunity to continue my skiing journey at CU Boulder. To be able to pursue an education while continuing to work hard to reach the World Cup level is something I'm incredibly grateful for.

As I look ahead to the upcoming season, I know that financial support is crucial in achieving my goals. Skiing at the highest level requires resources and any contribution you can make would mean the world to me. Your support will not only help me as an athlete, but also inspire others to pursue their passions relentlessly.

My focus for this season is to excel in NorAMs and earn a spot in one of our home World Cup events as well as winning NCAAs, helping the Buffs take home a National Title.

I'm grateful for all the support I've received so far for this sport. Your contribution, no matter the amount, will make a difference. Thank you for considering supporting my aspirations.

Best,

Ryder Sarchett.

Thank you.
